Shannon is excited to be returning to St. Paul for a fifth year. Born in the United States, she claims both Georgia and South Carolina as home states. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science with dual majors in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Mathematics from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia. After teaching four years of middle school math in Atlanta, she joined the team here at St. Paul where she has taught Algebra 2, PreCalculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, as well as developed the Accelerated Algebra 2 course at the school. This year will be her third as team leader and she’s also thrilled to be teaching the mathematical modeling course, a newer course at St. Paul. In her courses, she pushes students to explain and demonstrate their understanding using multiple methods for a more comprensive understanding of the content. Outside of school, Shannon enjoys baking, cycling, traveling, and reading.
